The AXA Emergency Assistance Service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for urgent advice, assistance, making arrangements for hospital admission, repatriation and authorisation of medical expenses.
When you are on a trip, you should contact this service:
- in the event of an illness or accident which may lead to inpatient hospital treatment or before any arrangements are made for repatriation (returning you to your home area)
- if you need to cut your trip short and return to your home early
If you are unable to contact this service before emergency treatment takes place, you (or someone on your behalf) must do so as soon as possible afterwards.
Please note that for non-emergency health issues experienced while travelling, our Medical Consultation Service is included as standard with all our travel insurance policies.
